I decided to make a thread all about Internet Security programs as well as other precautions you guys take to safeguard your stuff. So the question is, what software are you running now? Right now I am running Kaspersky Internet Security 2009.

If there are other means of internet security that you use, that are helpful, then please share with the rest of us.

the only thing i have ever run is avg free

for the last couple of years I've used Nod32... It's small and light on processor usage, but does the job very well.

Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 for me too.
Its effective, cheap and also light on system resources with regular updates.
Can't ask for more than that.

two years before i just got kaspersky, i ran trend micro IS, and it was alright, but i like kaspersky way more now.

that's what i use too, ever since i saw that that's what my certified microsoft instructor used, i been using it ever since. . .

Bit Defender for me.

I tried 6 and liked it a lot because it was small and fast and seemed good on the proactive side. 7 really, really bogs down my and every other computer on my networks performance tho. Will probably switch after license is up. Seems to work well, hasn't found anything in awhile (dunno if thats good or bad).

i use McAfee it gets rid of every virus i have ever gotten, works great

the only thing i have to choose between when it comes to IS, is does it get rid of the virus proactively or upon scanning. Thats about the only thing i check when choosing what program to use.

dude to be honest all i did was take my favorite movie, add a robinhood picture with it make it fade, add text and Voila!

I use AVG free, and sygate personal firewall. Avg is awesome, I love it. Sygate tells me whenever anything tries to access local or remote addresses.

For firefox etc I have auto allow turned on so I dont get a dialogue box every time i refresh a page. Another thing I like about sygate is that if any other application launches say firefox (While I have auto allow turned on), and tries to connect to the internet, I am notified.

i always run zone alarms security suite, nod32, and peer guardian. and sometimes i use tor, spybot, malwarebytes, and truecrypt

I use AVG Free for virus and I use Spy-Ware Blaster to help protect things and then run either Super-Anti Spyware or Ad Aware.
All which are FREE!!!!
