Disk Drive Not Reading Disks

my modded console has a hitachi drive, and it is finding it very hard to read some copied games. Im guessing that my laser is on its way out. But it has no problems reading normal disks, is there more strain on the disk drive for reading backup games?

Yeah man my Drive's laser is wearing out it plays originals fine but backups i can hear the laser struggling. I just bought a replacement, so you can either try fixing or buy a new drive..

you can try a pot tweak and it will help some times.
i would be prepared to get a replacement dvd drive though.

ya ive done a few before but they really are a temp thing.

This is very common amongst hitachi's. I would replce it with a samsung or a benq if it were my choice, but sometimes a pot tweak can work although usually for a certain period of time.
