I'm having problems flashing my Samsung MS28 drive. Here is what I've done. I am using iPrep ver. 008.8 and iXtreme 1.5 - 12x. I am able to boot off my usb and successfully read and write the firmware. My problem is when I tried to play games (retail and burned) I get a "to play disc, put in an xbox 360 console). The drive worked fine prior to my attempt to update the firmware. I have also tried the drive in another console with the same results. I have also tried an older version of firmware (1.4 - 8x) with the same results.
Get this after read:

Get this after write:

When trying to play a game:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks!

man if it wont even play a orig game then there is something wrong with the key.
it may have the wrong one or some thing.
at this point
i would flash it be orig firmware and just get it play orig games
then start over after that.

For now, I'd check the original key is good. Also
Make sure your backup games are stealth patched.
Also, it sounds more like a bad laser. I don't think the drive is bricked though. Try to adjust the DVD pot laser or replace the old laser with a new one.

Hey R3n you should have started your own thread, but it's cool. Use the same method as doing the CFW, make a copy of the OFW and rename it i think....sam_cfw.bin and put on the flash drive. Do the Fsam 1234567 12345 and when prompted type sam_cfw.bin. if you need anything just post up or start a new thread.
