Is a serial port Necessary for lite-on flashing?
I have Maximus 360 Xtractor pro v1.2 with spear and I used my motherboard sata ports because they can read 360 drives and I have read and dumped .bin files dummy, inquiry, identify, key, and serial. with xtractor reader v2.8 and I used jungle flasher v.43 for spoofing the ixtreme 1.5 into the original dummy lite-on firmware because the xtractor reader wouldn't accept the ixtreme 1.5 for some reason and jungle flasher would not recognize my drive it wouldn't come up even though i tried all ports. I used the usb method to dump the files because i don't have a serial port on my computer but now I don't know what to do because i have the files but no way to flash the drive. Is a serial port Necessary for jungle flasher to read the 360 drives or can you use usb and also if i were to use iprep 8.8 for dosflashing the drive is a serial port Necessary because i do not have one nor do i have a via sata card but my mother board seems to read the 360 drives fine because i flashed an original 360 with it. please help i have checked all tutorial i could find text and video and i have not found a real noob guide because they leave so much unanswered.
Re: Is a serial port Necessary for lite-on flashing?
if you have your firmware built with all the files from your lite-on
then you can flash it in with iprep
but
you have to work on the 1st sata port on your mobo.
and you have to change the name to litcfw.bin so iprep can see it.
the flash goes in on the sata cable not the com cable.

You don't need a serial cable to read the lite on in Jungle Flasher, I did mine with the USB Com port...
The only thing I would say in regards to SATA, is to dump all the files more than once. If the key is the same in more than one dump, then you should be fine. The latest DVDKEY32 dumps the key 6 times and shows you each result.
Don't worry bout JF not being able to see your drive, I have a problem with JF, and so do many other people
In short , as long as that key is ok, you're good to flash

Re: Is a serial port Necessary for lite-on flashing?
when you make the usb drive iprep ready do you just put the litcfw.bin file in root of the usb? and is that the only file needed for flashing the firmware or should i include the identify, dummy, inquiry, key, serial?
Re: Is a serial port Necessary for lite-on flashing?
the litcfw.bin needs to be copied to /BACKUPS/1234567/12345. It will flash from there
