iPrep and iXtreme 1.51

So, I sat down with the newest iXtreme fw tonight to make sure that my drive was up to date with the latest out there. In this post you'll find just a few things that I discovered while working until 5:00 AM.

1. iPrep is a heckuva lot easier to use than JF. At least for my case anyways. I have a BenQ drive which I use to make my backups, that I just couldn't get JF to even read the fw off of it. So broke out iPrep 008.8 and went to work.

2. iPrep worked like a charm. If you've never flashed a drive I suggest going this route first. I was fortunate enough to have a ac adapter to molex psu just hangin around the house. So with CK1 in hand and an old power strip (I used the power strip as my on/off switch) I booted to iPrep and began the process.

3. dBen 123456 12345, went as expected. Read four banks... Good! (Unlock went off without a hitch!!)

4. fBen 123456 12345 went even better. iPrep wrote all four banks and Verified them with absolutely no problem.

5. Finally I rebooted and verified that the backup had a good key as well as the CFW. (I have my key stored in like 12 different places including a spare drive that is stored in my 360.)

6. Questions?

iprep all the way for me but i use a Via 6421 which is still buggy with jungle. The only thing i might have done different was to do step 5 before step 4 as you should really save the files/check them before you do the fben command.

I've gotten used to work with iPrep 8.8 in great part thanks to the support of all the guys in this forum. CoFree has made more videos than Tom Cruise, which is a good thing...iPrep has full support :D

I agree that iPrep is far more stable than Jungleflasher. I go iPrep all the way. Runs strong and flawlessly for me and is pretty intuitive to work with.

IMO jungleflasher is still too new and might have bugs yet to be seen. I'm sure over time JF will become just as solid as iPrep, but for now I'll stick to iPrep.

Dalecheesy is spot on, always check your key is good before doing the flash... I personally always do 2 dumps and compare them both....

normally I would check my bin files and keys but I've got a copy of my key in so many places. I will always backup a key for someone elses drive when I do theirs.
