flashing phillips/benq drive

Post by daqid »

i have a philips/ benq drive and i seen the tutorials on how to flash the benq drive and very great videos but i was wondering when you say benq, does those just apply to benq drives or does that also apply to the phillips/benq drives. i've googled and seen the product stickers that have just benq and some (mine) that has philips/benq on them?

JungleFlasher can be easier for some but for others its worse.. stick to what you know and love, so that would probably be iPrep. For xbins just go to Firmware > Hacked Firmware > BenQ VAD6038 > BenQ_iXtreme_v1.51-FINAL. Also grab the ixdef from there also its for iPrep. When unraring the ixdef, put it in iPrep resources.

I only suggest it because it works great for me. iPrep is solid but rebooting PC every flash is getting old.

if anyone happen to be on at this time, i need help. i followed the benq flash video provided by cofree (great video by the way) i saved my files and booted back into xp and saved the backups like the video said, i re watched the video before continuing making sure i did everything right and i noticed that i didn't get the unlock drive prompt. the whole turn off the drive open it half way, etc. after i picked the drive, it went straight to the read/write prompt. i'm not using a connectivity kit my xbox is powering the drive, could that be the reason? is not getting that prompt a problem? should i continue?

not necessarily, i remember seeing that some other guys that flashed their benq drive said they never got that prompt and the drive flashed no problem. . . as long as your key is good, you should be good to go

Try the re-flashing process again but type in ben_cfw.bin not bencfw.bin, that MIGHT be the problem :)
