Yeah, RC cars are cool. Especially the gas powered ones. I've got one, but I haven't messed with it in a little while. I'm more into RC flyers now. Particularly helicopters. I've got an electric one at the moment. One of these days I'll save up enough to buy me a gas powered t-rex that I can do so real areobatics with.

Gas powerd is cool indeed but for some quick racing fun is elektro real easy just load up those battery's and you're reay to go.

With nitro or gas you need the fuel cleaning stuf motor oil and stuff.
He has a nitro aswell 1/10 touring and a touring electro

A helicoper is also in his collection never seen him fly it tough.

Planes must be real cool but you need a good day and open field or a high and large garage.
You can do so much cool things with RC stuff :P but it's real expensive thats' a bit a down side.

Nitro's are fun, but I find the noise to get annoying.

Wouldn't a gas powered car be lighter, and in turn faster? Wouldn't batteries weigh them down?

well the new brushless cars are verry fast and also have direct power, the feelng wit the trottle is different between elektro and nitro but once you got the trick, they are extreem fast. Then you have the option to tune up your parts and you can change the lipo batteries from like 2 cells to 3 cells that makes a big difference in power.

Brushless motor? That sounds awesome, and expensive. I bet batts last longer with them. It's been a couple years since I messed with my Traxxas stadium truck(electric). I put so much money in that thing. Maybe I'll break it out since this weather is picking up.

awesome indeed and no cleaning or maintenance is required on a brushless motor!

Lipo's last verry long and are very powerfull also !

Brushless motors is the way to go on electric models. They take different batteries and generally have a special controller so yeah, it makes it more expensive. But the advantages are far worth the extra cost when it comes to the performance. In the cases of helicopters in a conversion situation, it can mean going from a copter that you can barely keep in the air to one that you can do all sorts of tricks with after the conversion.

Usually cars can have ni-cad or NiMah batteries with brushed motors, while helicopters mainly have NiMah batts with brushed motors. With brushless motors they all use LiPo batteries. That in itself is more expensive.

I am toying with the idea of getting a rc car but I am running out of space. Love the cars but my 1st love is helis. My appologies for kind of hijacking the post but Sadalias mentioned rc helis so this is sort of related. Started out with only 1 but I've got 8 at the moment....

MODS: I tried my best to resize the photos. Please resize them if they are still to big.

@heman, just upload the pic, and it will be shown on the bottom of your post.
