Cannot update from HAWX disc

Post by Nol60 »

Hello,

I tried to use the Tom Clancy's HAWX gamedisc on my flashed xbox with really old firmware (did not know which firmware) but that did not work because i got a screen with the question if i wanted to update, clicked yes and than een screen popped up with "Cannot update, disc is dirty, try again". Tried for a couple of times but got the same announcement each time. Then updated to the new 1.5.1 firmware, tried again with the same result. But when i take off my harddisk there is no problem at all, but then i can not save my game and have to start all over again each time i stop playing.
Can anyone help me with this.
TIA,

Before i tried to update i had the old one, after the attempt to update i have the new dashboard and it works ok.

I can not play the game when my harddisk is clicked on my xbox (because it keeps trying to update), but when the harddisk is removed there is no problem and i can play the game. :?: :?:

ok this MIGHT work but you're doing to have to erase all your (game) updates using the system maintenance method. Go to your HD's memory then hit X X left bumper, right bumper, X X or but if your other games wont update, either DONT DO THIS

also look this up on youtube if i put the wrong keystrokes

I think you're right, clicked on the HD from a friend and it worked fine.
Buying a new one is the only solution i think.

Thanks for your help.

If you're interested, they're are ways to back up your files off your original hdd. It's not the easiest thing to do but worth looking into if you don't want to replay all the games you've beaten.
