Hi guys, can bad media cause the open tray error to show up?

As in you put in a disk and it just says open tray?

Yes.

If you can play original games, and watch movies fine, then its a problem with the disk. Could be burned improperly, could be the wrong type of disk... etc.

You can backup your games, and save the image to your pc for safe keeping until you have enough money to buy the disks...

You could make some money by selling some of your xbox games too...

Although backing up your game, then selling the original copy is illigal, its the same as pirating. I am talking about selling your games that you are not backing up, but do whatever you want, its a free country.

Hi Guys,

Well Im proper gutted I hope someone knows anything or can help me,

About an hour ago my electric went out while playing fight night round 4, I turns the electric back on and now my 360 wont read discs, Its saying Open Tray, Even with originals. The fan is trying to kick in but dont. I hope I can just reflash the drive and its all good, Wishfull thinking probablys but please if anyone can help be appreciated.

P.S I recently about a month or so ago flashed it with 1.6, Its a beq and its been really good up till an hour ago, Ive never had probs with it. Im sick !
