Need Help! I think i fried my Lite On!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried to flash my lite on. I made my own connectivity kit and it work fine,i was powering the drive through my 360, i use the jungler flasher to get the key and the Via sata card. It took me few tries to get the key, but i did luckily. I went to erase my drive but in the part that you have turn the "power off and on in 1 sec" of the drive i couldnt make it. I was so desperate that i took the cable of the drive wich i connected apparently the wrong way because i saw a little smoke out of the drive and my xbox was marking the three red lights. I checked my drive it doesnt work it doesnt seem burned, my 360 work.

Now, Do i need to buy another drive? Where can i get one? And i have the key wich program i need to use to spoof it in the other drive?

Dude you should never let the "magic" smoke out. If you're drive still plays original games then you may be lucky enough to flash it. But don't expect your drive to last very long. All I can say is it's a very good thing you were able to dump the OFW and key before you fried it. I would definitely look into getting a new drive, BenQ and Samsung are among the easiest to flash so I'd look at those first.

The drive doesnt open, could it be the power cable or if there is smoke is ruin? And the samsung MS28 is a good option?

I was so happy when when i finally dump the key then this happen, ahhhh. Hey, but we always learn from our mistakes.... I think.

hi i use iprep 101 v008 or 360 modification disc v1.51 you can get these from xbins
the best one for noob will be 360 modificat disc as it has a step by step giude

as long as im right and you burned up a lite-on dvd drives but you have all your files.
then i would say get a v28.(very easy to flash once you have the right stuff)
use iprep 8.8

you would use jungle flasher to open your dummy.bin
then open the target file would be the ix v1.51 firmware
then click spoof to target
then save file.

you want to name that file samcfw.bin

build a iprep boot flash
in the backup folder make a folder in a folder
the first folder name would be 1234567
the 2nd folder name would be 12345
in that 2nd folder put a copy of the samcfw.bin
then boot onto the flash and run te

fsam 1234567 12345
and do what it says on the screen

Usage:

- Make sure you have a VT6421 (or compatible) PCI SATA card installed in your PC

- Burn this ISO, and boot this disc in your PC

- Follow the prompts to mod any Samsung, BenQ, or Lite-On XBOX 360 DVD-ROM drive

- All firmware dumps, modified firmware, and other files related to the drive being
modified will be placed in the following directories on your 'C' drive:

Samsung TS-H943 - C:\SAMFILES

BenQ VAD6038 - C:\BENFILES

Lite-On DG-16D2S - C:\LONFILES

Thats in the readme, so I would assume its like a 'wizard' and guides you through the process. There is apperently a problem with the disk and certain sata HDD's. So you need to disconnect your HDD in order to proceed with the flash, so you would basically have no backup...

i have not found it
i know it will flash all the dvd drive
but spoofing is a different animal altogether

yeah cofree's right. The disc doesn't support spoofing one drive to another

The spoofing function of the disc only applies to previously modded & spoofed drives being upgraded by this disc.

This disc does not support un-modded drive swapping/spoofing. (modding and spoofing a drive for a different machine)

i dont think its fried...same thing happened to me i plugged in the power cable upside down and then i heard a crackling sound and it smelled burnt. I took it out because my computer had frozen in JF. So i rebooted my computer then booted up into dos (usb) and followed cofrees guide. I couldnt get my lite on in the right status when erasing i just kept on getting status FFFF. So i went ahead with the tutorial anyways and it flashed fine. Then i booted back up into windows unistalled my VIA card and viamraid from the drivers folder and i also uninstalled portio32. I rebooted and installed portio32 my via card had a next to it then i just pluged in my drive to my via and powered it and it didnt freeze anymore in JF so i went ahead and upgraded to ixtreme 1.51..hope this helps.

Socalboii i think my drive is really burnt, because when i power on the 360 (the drive with the power cable and xbox sata) it doesn't open, the xbox green light keeps flashing and then the xbox turn to 1 red light, wich i think is "malfunctioning hardware". But could it be that only the cable is burnt?
Is there a form to see if the drive is working without the power cable??

mine didnt open either until i flashed it in dos then afterwards it opens. I also had the one red light E64 error. Everything works fine now though. Have you tried it in dos though?

edit: oh ok i read ur post now and mine had the exact same thing. its not fried. i still flashed it as long as you have lite_cfw file your fine. Are you using your xbox or connectivity kit to power. It shouldnt matter just boot into dos and do cofrees tut even if when you try to erase you get a status FFFF (mine had this) go on ahead and flash it anyways.

i'd make a video but my camera isnt charged now and it would take a while.

OHHH!! THANKS!!! man! Today i was planing to buy a new drive from ebay. Let me try that first. MY drive doesnt seem damaged, only that when i saw the little smoke the cable smell burnt.
