ixtreme 1.5.1 with BENQ Help!!

Hello Guys,

Please can someone help me out here.. I have watched tutorials on how to take your xbox 360 apart and I successfully done this in like 5 mins :)

I have watched cofree1234 video on how to flash the BenQ with iprep and I wanted to try and upgrade my ixtreme 1.4.1 to the 1.5.1.. I did everyting and bought everything necessary.. I purchsed the Xecuter CK3 PRO and hooked it up to my pc and also loaded the 1.5.1 bin file in iprep and created a boot on my 4GB flash usb stick.

Now here is where it starts going down hill for me.. I boot up on the flash and I then type:

C:\>dben 1234567 12345 then press enter and it says:

ERROR: BACKUPS\1234567\12345\BenOFW.bin does not exist! Program Aborting..

I thought it may be because I do not have a VIA VT6421A PCI PC Raid Card .. However I am connecting the SATA cable onto my motherboards port and it is detecting it in BIOS .. so could this be the reason?

When I purchsed my xbox 360 I bought it flashed with ixtreme 1.4.1 and I still have the Ben-OFW.bin and the Benq-CFW.bin file.. do I need to flash to original then flash to the 1.5.1? Please can you guys help me?

Or shall I just buy a VIA VT6421A PCI PC Raid Card and try it again? Thanks..

Ok some mobo sata connections work fine with iPrep. But for the most part you do need the VIA 6421A or L sata raid card. If iPrep recognizes the BenQ drive then it's probably ok to say that your mobo is one of these boards. But also consider that if you've got everything hooked up correctly and you still can't dump the drive then you'll probably want to buy the card. Also when I did both BenQ's that I own, I had to make sure that the drive was powered on before iPrep started. Try it again and if you have any more issues just post up and we'll get back to you asap.

Thanks for your reply.. I have tried everything believe me.. I have spent almost 5 hrs trying.. however the Drive is recognised in BIOS how do I know if its recognised in iprep? where does it say? From the sata controller in iprep I can select 4 options:

1 - NVIDIA nForce RAID Controller
2 - NVIDIA nForce RAID Serial ATA Controller
3 - NVIDIA nForce RAID Serial ATA Controller
4 - Microsoft iSCSI Initiator..

I select the first one.. and I tried the second and third one and made boot on my flash stick.. i terms of already having the ixtreme 1.4.1 does that matter? do I need to flash to original? Thanks..

Cofree,

Thats cool.. Yeah its a BenQ with 1.4.1 on it.. but the thing is.. its not detecting the drive for some reason.. I can see it in bios but in iprep and jungle flasher not detecting.. I am running it on my Dell XPS 630i but hmm I think I am going to have to wait for the my "VIA Chipset VT6421A DOS Bootable card" I just purchased on ebay.. maybe its the sata connection on my mother board that it doesn't like? Thanks cofree yout videos are great.. well explained in detail.. Thanks :)

Thanks man all your help is appreciated .. this is the card I purchased:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0314752865" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Please advise me if this is the correct one.. thanks.

Cofree, if you don't mind just to clear my mind I want to ask a few questions.. would really appreciate if you could answer.. thanks:

1 - I already have ixtreme 1.4.1 on my drive can I upgrade straight to 1.5.1 or do I need to flash to original firmware and then to 1.5.1? If I don't need to flash to original and I can do a straight upgrade, then is the tutorial on your video still valid or must I do something else?

2 - Is the ixtreme 1.5.1 stealth patched or just normal?

3 - On the CK3 PRO Kit as you know there is an eject button and another little white button which I think puts the drive into Move B? Whats Mode B? an do I need to push that button on to make it blue or does it stay off as "Red" colour?

Thanks for all your help!

Thanks much obliged..

That card should do the trick. Just treat the drive like it has never been flashed before. Iprep will dump it, create your new 1.51 firmware and then you can flash it straight in. And yes, 1.51 is stealth patched.

Hey,

thanks for your prompt response.. I appreciate it.. I was wondering since I have a good back up of the original firmware I guess I dont really need to save the backup when I flash it this time or do I?

I promise just 2 more questions:

1 - On the CK3 PRO Kit as you know there is an eject button and another little white button which I think puts the drive into Move B? Whats Mode B? an do I need to push that button on to make it blue or does it stay off as "Red" colour?

2 - When I do dben XXXXXXX XXXXXXX can I just put any number or must I put the serial number or is putting the serial number better?

Thanks again guys for all your help.. I am sorry for the 100 questions but this is the first time I am ever going to flash myself.. :)

It's really only important to save your original firmware. Or at the very least your drive key, unless your dealing with a lite-on then you need to save the dummy.bin, but yours is a benq, so just save the OFW.

There is an eject on the CK3, and there is a mode b button. Mode b is only for hitachi drives.

when putting in a serial number for the dben, it doesn't matter, as long as you can remember the number for when you run fben. You could use dben 12345678 12345, or dben 0987654 09876 or any combination that you want as long as you use the same number when you run fben.

Thank you so much for all your help and advise.. so mode b button should not be pressed on the benq then , is that right? shall it be a little red light then?

Also if I want to do another BenQ drive in future I will save the OFW.bin and then flash it.. but how do I get the key for the drive? Is that done in Jungle Flasher? Thanks.

Yes

There are a few ways to get the key from another drive. The most common way is to use Jungle Flasher, but you can use iPrep to dump the OFW off of the new drive and there are a number of tools to extract the key.bin file. Check out this link to download the additional tools.
