i was playing re5 for a few hours on an off yesterday and today got the error.

just like i thought if you use your 360 alot it will error sooner or later, i guess this really is true.

well man
E74: There is high chance it's a scaler chip problem (the "ANA" or "HANA" chip near the AV cable connection) it can also be caused by a faulty AV cable so check that first. In some cases it is a problem with the GPU and may be repairable by doing the x-clamp replacement (see error 0102)

that is if you dont want to or cant send it back to M$ for repair

yeah well i opened it to mod it, and u can tell i opend it on the case.

also i don't want to get rid of my benq drive, which they would prolly take out an give me a lite on an thats if they would even fix it seeing as it's been opened.

so what are my options ? should i try xclamp fix ? how hard is it to do ?

is there a really good video guide for this you recommend ? i will need a video that's for sure that walks me through the whole process.

thanks for any help guys, this just really sucks, i mean my 360 is a falcon too, i thought it might last but i guess not.

we are working on a video
man i could not find one that i like.
i like to put a heat gun to it a littel to reflow the solder
but this can be bad if not done right.
here is a text guide on it.
thats the best i can do for now
ill keep looking man.
viewtopic.php?f=198&t=511" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

just keep in mind that even after this it may not work
and
if it does it may not work long

you could do the "dakeside" thing. :?

what's the dakeside thing ? lol.

so you guys are working on a xclamp video ? that sounds good.

when it will it be up ?

i've been reading around, and i've seen that a southbridge xclamp fix or reflow/heating the the chips/mainboard might also help, i'm just not sure about any of this.

is there any differnce in a normal xclamp and a southbridge one ? i'm just tryin to learn all this stuff.

i just wish i could get a video for each of these methods, if i could i think i could breath some new life into my 360.

The darkside thing involves buying one from a store and gutswapping it then taking it back for a refund. Not recommended for the faint of heart. ;)

I only did an xclamp yesterday for an e74 error and one red light.
Its working so far but only time will tell if its gonna be a long term fix.

I followed the videos from this website
http://www.thexboxexpert.com/360fix.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The only difference is that i did not use nylon washers. I used bolts and spring washers and metal washers from a kit that I bought on ebay.

There is only one video on the page but if you let it finish you get to choose between others and some are quite usefull.

I would try the xclamp if I were you and the console is out of warranty as the kit is really cheap to buy and you dont have much else to lose.

so what would u do cofree if one of your 360's errord ?

since u don't support x clamp ?

throw it away ? i doubt it, i'm pretty sure everyone tries fixing it, and in most cases are successfull, dunno for how long but yeah i'm gonna try an fix it one way or another.

thanks ghost, i'll check that out, i think i'm gonna try lawdoggs xclamp fix for starters, seemd to have work for someone else on here recently.
