Hitachi v78? Easy? Hard?

How easy is the 78? The 79 is the pain in the a** isnt it? Or is that the 78?

I opened my box and it says ROM VER.: 0078FK So I assume this is the hitachi 78?

79 was the first drive I ever flashed.
Was easy the 1st time with 360 FirmwareToolbox and even easier with JF1.51
Also detects on a VIA over Port I/O
Send Mode B and 79Unlock are all built into JF (you still need the Unlock disc ofc, but it plays and stops it with one click)

78 should be even easier (no need to unlock)
Basically, np at all.

Alright, so what would I need to do to flash it? (I believe my via card came in today, if not probably tmrw)

yep use the VIA, and you can use JungleFLasher or toolbox to flash it

Ok, cool. I think I shall do my sammy first since It will be easier, then I will do the HIT.

78's are a breeze with jungleflasher. Super easy as long as your equipment can't recognize the hitachi, you'll be fine.

Yea they seem soo easy after I watched your tutorial video.

The hardest part will probably be mode b w/o a ck3.
