Here we are again with HDDs!!

Post by technoe »

So until today I had assumed that all xbox 360 hdd's were WD Bev series. I cracked mine open today only to find that it is a Seagate!!! That explains why hddhackr doesn't work for me. Any ideas now on how to get the hddss.bin file?

It should work, with some hex editing.
hddhacker will work with all 360 HDDs that I know of.
You just can't flash any Non-360 HDD with (has to be a bevs)

btw, sent you a pm ;)

Do you know how to edit the hddhackr.com to make it compatible?

I got it working! I ended up making four copies of HDDhackr and editing each one with different values from msinfo32. I'm sure there's a way to extract the signature from the hddss.bin file and reapply after the info has been edited. I hope to accomplish something like this so we can enjoy 500 gig hdds in our 360's!!!! Check out the attached program!!

man
its my understanding
that the console itself has the last say on the size of the HD
If its over 120gb then it just will not pass the checks.

I by know mean know all there is on the 360 HD
so
if you think you got a lead
follow up on it.

What i think is needed
is a good clear guide on making a after market 120gb HD work
on a console that has a 20GB hd on it. ;)

No problem I'm going to order my 120gb next week. And for 50-60 bucks for a 120gb hdd is nothing compared to the 180 M$ want's to charge. I was actually thinking of putting a SSD in my 360.
