DVD case covers

Can you cut the cover to the DVD drive I know you have to keep the magnet disk in the middle but if I kept that there could i cut some off the top or would it wreck the drive?

I have actually taken the magnetic disk off of another drive and just leave the cover off. you do not need the case fully assembled. Fair warning try to stay clear of the drive as any movement of it while the disk is spinning may cause the disk to jump off and you do not want to be around if that happens.

Maybe a dremel, or even a router if you have the right bits.
