Hitachis and iprep?

Hi all... I've just recently flashed my first 360 drive (ms-28) using iprep 8.8 and cofree's tut. worked flawlessly first time. I know you can use the new iprep to do the Samsung, Benq/lite-on drives as I have all the vids on it. What I'm wondering is can you also use iprep 8.8 to flash the hitachis? I know you can use JF... but am more comfortable with iprep.

no you can not

at this point i dont think i would use iprep on the lite-on
but
there are some that are not having trouble

i do know this if you have a onbo via chipset
iprep will not work to update a lite-on.

thanks for getting back to me. really bummed about the no iprep for hitachi. have to read the JF tut a couple of times and find a vid on it. I am using a via6421 card, so the lite-on should work off that, right?
