Guys a quick question for you, i have a liteon drive that has been spoofed as an Hitachi 47,
it is running ix1.4 and i wish to upgrade it to 1.51.

My question is do i flash it as an hitachi or as a lite-on ???

If you use jungleflasher to get the firmware it will automatically take care of that part for you.

A quick run through.

1. Connect the lite-on to the sata port and connectivity kit. Turn it on and open the tray. Turn it off and close the tray half way. Turn it back on.
2. Open jungleflasher and click the DVD Key 32 tab and make sure that your drive shows up in the drive properties. Click Dummy from iXtreme. It will take care of getting the key and such and build a dummy.bin and will ask you if you want to open the file as the source. Click yes and it will automatically load that as the source, load the proper ixtreme and spoof it. All you would need to do is save it.
3. Either finish flashing in JF or take the custom firmware and use either iprep or dosflash to flash it with.

Tyhanks so much for the reply, i do have to admit i do prefer to use iprep when i flashing but if i have to use JF then i may bite the bullet ;)

well, you don't have to use jungleflasher exclusively. You can use jungle to create the hacked firmware, and then put it into your BACKUPS folder under the serial folders and then rename it to match what iprep looks for when it flashes and use iprep to flash it in.

Do i have to put the ix1.51 files for either the hitachi or the lite-on in to the JF firmware folder then ???

Yeah, if its a lite-on drive, then all you need in the firmware folder is the lite-on ixtreme 1.51 firmware. You shouldn't ahve to worry about the hitachi firmware. Once you hit the dummy from ixteme button, it will almost do the rest of it for you.

You always flash based on the drive. When you spoof you just change some strings in the firmware, and the key.

So right now your lite-on is 99% lite-on, but it has a few strings modified to look like a hitachi, and has the key that makes it work in your xbox.
