Conficker worm

Has anybody read anything about this. I read it's created a bot network estimated at 12 million and on April 1st it's supposed to 'activiate' whatever that will mean. I remember in October Microsoft released a big-to-do patch for IE because of this, and they've offered a $250,000 bounty for the developer. It's getting a lot of press, but so did the y2k bug if you recall.
