Need some help with my Lite-On flashing

Hey guys, I've been trying to flash my Lite-On drive for most of the day but I keep hitting a roadblock with DVDkey32. I it always gives me an empty key. Not sure if it's my RS232 card or the nforce SATA on my motherboard that's causing this :/. I tried jungleflasher first but it couldn't see my drive. Here's a picture of my dvd-rom (one of the cables came off after I moved it) and the RS232 card. To connect the R707 points I used a conductive ink pen and I'm pretty sure the two points are connected. I'm also using two old CD-Rom audio cables for the connection between the rom and the serial cable board.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Rune

It looks like you're proficient in soldering (if thats solder in your images and not conductive ink?)so i'd either solder the 707 points (as i wouldnt trust the conductive pens) or bridge the points with a metal clip . But be very very careful not to touch the adjoining points as this could arc out the drive. I'm pretty sure its possible to also use a diy probe with your arrangement but i think i read you need to splice it into one of your wires and solder it somewhere onto the r232 or something.

Soldering wires I can do, but not sure how to go about connecting those points. I saw something about using a screw driver to connect them but it's probably a pain. How would I go about connecting those points?

Any small thin metallic implement will do. You need steady hands though. Its just a matter of placing it so the 2 707 points are bridged but it would probably be a lot safer to just use a bit wire and solder them as theres no chance of you hitting an adjoining point that way.

No problem. Let us know how you get on and fingers crossed. (unless you decide to use a screwdriver or something then uncross them as you'll need them to keep it steady)
