bitsetting/booktyping

i was just reading firm wear tutorial and it says to check my burners bitsetting/booktyping,Ive looked around this forum and cant seem to find anyone that has done this.My burner is new so do i have to check?Has anyone else done this?...thanks

with the new stuff you should not have to mess with that
