you don't have to solder. download and make a 79unlock disc and you'll be good to go with jungleflasher

Wait, i just realized that the only way the drive will be detected is if i use the Via drivers and not the port IO so what should i do? Should I play the disk then enable port IO then remove Via drivers? im in a pickle plz help

first of all what are you using to flash it, why would you have to enable and remove things. i've only used jungleflasher 1.51, i installed the IO drivers and used a onboard sata port. after you get the drive into mode b you then do the 79unlock

try this

Make sure you have portio32 installed. Open device manager and disable your VIA card.

Browse to X:\windows\system32\drivers and find a file called viamraid.sys, it could be a dll I can't remember for sure. Either way there is only one file named viamraid rename it to viamraid.bak or something.

Re-enable the VIA card in the device manager. It should show a yellow exclamation mark on it. Reboot your computer. Check device manager again to make sure it still has the yellow exclamation mark on it.

Try jungleflasher on all types of drives.

Remember to report back whether this works for you or not. Don't try this if you have no way of recovering drives if your PC locks up just in case or if your primary hard drive runs off your card or you have on board VIA sata controller because your computer won't be able to boot if you remove the driver and your primary hard drive is running of that controller.

If my Via is disabled using the method above, how would I get it to play the unlok song if it is not going to be detected?

from my understanding it will detect it, the via card just wont show up in jungleflasher in that drop down menu on the right side.
