I am hoping someone can help me with this. I have searched the forums and found nothing.

I have a Samsung ms28 drive that is spoofed to be a Hitachi 47. It currently has iXtreme 1.4 and I want to upgrade to 1.51.
I dont have the original firmware as the spoof was done by someone else.

I would preferably want to use jungleflasher to do it.
Any help with this is greatly appreciated. Thanks

If you use jungleflasher, the spoofing will be done automatically. All you will have to do is dump the drive, then load your ixtreme firmware for the samsung, click spoof source to target, save it and then write it.

but its reading as a hitachi 47 drive right now? how would I dump or unlock it. As a samsung or as a hitachi? do I return to stock on hitachi?

You unlock it by what it physically is. It physically is a samsung, it has samsung firmware. It only reports as a hitachi. So you would unlock it with the sammy unlock If it already has ixtreme 1.5 on it, you need to do the tray half closed trick to unlock it. If it's a version of ixtreme before 1.5, you'll have to use the 0800 disk to unlock it.

One other thing I've noticed is if you have ix 1.5 and the sammy unlock fails, click the Intro/Device ID button and that will usually get the flash chip properties to populate to where you can read and write the firmware.

Thanks a lot Sadalius... I used the 0800 disc to unlock it and jungleflasher kept the same settings from the spoof so I just finished like if it was a regular samsung drive.

That should do it man. Sounds like you put this one to bed.
