Stealth patch question

I have benq drive with FW ixtreme1.4. My question is, will it only play stealth patched backups, or is stealth patch only necessary to play on live? In other words can I play nonstealth patched backups without going on live and not risk getting banned? I have several rips, that I didn't patch, I've yet to burn themand am wondering if they would even play on my just newly modded 360. Thanks for any input.

I'm pretty sure the ixtreme1.4 will only play stealth patched games. You will have to go to an earlier fw version if you want to play non stealth games. The way things are going right now, my advice would be not to play with non stealth games if at all possible. And make sure they are not in your drive if you get on Live.

It depends on what you flash the Benq with. There is a non-stealth version of the ixtreme 1.4 firmware for the Benq and if you flashed with that one, it will boot both stealth and non-stealth backups. Obviously not a good choice if you go on Xbox Live. The Benq ixtreme comes in non-stealth, 2x, 5x, 8x, and 12x flavors and only the 2x, 5x, 8x, and 12x are stealth only.
