I know this doesn't really fit here but its as close as I could find, but Does anyone have any info on the new PRE coming out for sprint I was going to buy an Iphone last month but i am currently with sprint and the said the PRE is supposed to dominate the smart phone market. Does anyone have any info on this specifically about its hackablity, or any other cool information.

I'm not impressed. I really don't see how a Palm device is going to beat out anything that the Geniuses from Apple can come up with. The PRE looks like a smoother version of the HTC Touch Pro. And as always it WILL be running Windows Mobile, which I've never liked. My HTC Touch has to be restarted twice a week because Windows freezes.

Its actually not running windows mobile palm designed a brand new os for this phone and may actually be selling it with new computers as a desktop os. I am actually kind of excited i guess they have state of the art bad ass risc chip that has 4 times the processing power of the iphone but that could be the integration of the os.

I guess it's just a waiting game. I've never been a Sprint fan I had a ton a problems back when I used to be a loyal subscriber. And I think they went from bad to worse when they picked up Nextel. I know that the Palm Centro had a lot of issues and they just released the Palm 730 not six months ago. I would wait for this one to hit the stores for a couple of months before you rush out to get one.

I haven't read a lot about it but I know it's gotten a lot of press. I don't think the pre will be a bad phone, I just think Sprint is becoming less and less relevant as a carrier so I think it'll be hard for them to move them. Remember the Instinct...

Yea, like stated, you should wait at least a month after release before you seriously think about getting it.

I quite like the look of it, and the non windows os is a HUGE plus.

Engadget got a hands-on Palm Pre.

Highlights: the touchscreen is better (tho smaller) than the iphone

Lows: the hardware sucks (see sharp edges, flimsy cheap feel)
