Iprep Key Dump Error ( :( )

Post by 9thwonda »

I get the following error when trying to flash a lite-on drive.

___________________________________________________

Geremia's Method Failed!

DVD-key is invalid!
file not found - key.bin
file not found
file not found - dummy.bin
file not found

ERROR: File BACKUPS\1234567\12345\dummy.bin does not exist! program aborted!

____________________________________________________

Can someone lead me in the right direction as to how to fix this?

- Sata is hooked up
- Power is hooked up
- Open/Eject method done
- Green light on the probe while pressing enter

I have the CK3 LITE. The rs232 cable that came with it is attached to the CK3 and then I purchased a male/female adapter and another cable to hook it up to my pc. Also, I selected COM PORT 1 because I only know of my computer having one. My error might be in this area. Any help is appreciated.

You shouldn't have needed the male/female adapter for the serial cable that comes with the kit. But if everything connected ok then I don't see a problem there. Is your adapter a null adapter, the might be a problem if it's not. Other than that it looks like you've got everything else like it should be.

Technoe (thanks for your input) :I believe the issue is with the rs232 cable. At frys they didn't have 1 cable that would connect the ck3 to my rs232 so they ended up giving me an adapter and another cord to hook to the pc. Is it a null adapter? I really dont know honestly but I think it is. The whole assy only cost like 16 bucks. Anyhow I'd like to get the CORRECT cable. Is there a official name of the cable? I'd love to go to radioshack/best buy/frys and say I need a ___________. If you could give me that than I'll give it another try and hopefully get a better result.

Thanks again guys.

Best place to get them is ebay. Like this one:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Serial-RS232-DB9-Ma ... 7C294%3A50" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If you go to a computer shop, they will be hard to find because thats some old school stuff. But what you want to ask for is a DB9 RS232 serial cable that has a male connector on one end and a female connector on the other end.

So yea, something is wrong on my end. Sorry for the confusion.

Heres the deal:

I do not have a 9-pin input on the back of my cpu. There is a 15-pin tho (EDIT: VGA CONNECTOR JUST FOUND OUT). I so lost right now :(. Anyhow I have the Serial RS232 DB9 Male to Female 9-Pin which is not helping now.

Originally I purchased a 15-pin to 15-pin male with an adapter to make it work. Geez im mentally exhausted...

Now I have no clue what to do.

EDIT: So If I don't have a rs232 connection on my pc what do I do?

I don't think the 15 pin serial port will work mate. I picked up a 9 pin serial add on PCI card from newegg.com that works great. It's a rosewill card with a single 9 pin serial port. It works in dos, but you have to copy the drive file to your boot media and run it once you get booted to dos. It will change your sata port addresses around some so you'll need to check your sata port address that your connecting your drive to get iprep able to communicate to the drive.

Sounds like I should just get the CK3 Pro. What do you think? Not to cpu savy here, just learning as I go.

Im more saying that I should go the Cp3 (PRO) USB dumping instead, since RS232 is not going for me. Good Idea? Im already using the Ck3 LITE.

Well since they both work for you im gonna go ahead and go the usb route. Its seems the most least annoying way since my pci slots are used up. Your everywhere coffee thanks alot. Same to sadalius.

Yeah, no problem man. Keep in mind that if your using a VIA add on card to flash with, you might have to disable the via driver to keep Jungleflasher from locking up on you when you go to do the erase. We can help you with that part if need be though.
