ABGX ERROR ON SAINTS ROW 1
ABGX ERROR ON SAINTS ROW 1
hey everybody,
havin a prob with abgx1.0.1 patching saints row 1. i ripped it using wxRipper1.2 and a 7.5+gig dvd to swap with. ive used that movie on other games and it works. actually the first couple times i tried to rip it one of the sectors failed or didnt say "Done". finally got it to rip and then abgx wont pass it at all. my pc says the iso is 7.2gigs. anyone have a clue. maybe its not in their database. i dont know where to check that. not that i wanna play it online, just dont wanna get banned for having a copy of one of my games in my drive when on live. do you have to try to play it on live or can it just be in the drive kickin it?

Re: ABGX ERROR ON SAINTS ROW 1
First of all, we don't really support WxRipper, games ripped that way have a higher risk of being detected and therefore having your system banned from xbox live. If you're able to I would rip it with either Schtrom 360 or Xbox Backup Creator. These are the only two programs that I use. The patching error could be from a bad rip. The patch only corrects those files that seem non-stealth, not incomplete or corrupted. If you have a Kreon capable drive or an extra benq or TS xbox 360 drive you could use those with the programs above.

certain drives can be flashed with kreon firmware i take it. any list of capable drives anywhere you know of? im not really worried bout getting kicked off live. i only go there for updates only. not an online gamer. if i was id be doing it on my pc anyway. Samsungs SH-D162C, SH-D162D, SH-D163A, SH-D163B, are all of the kreon drives. I had to find mine on ebay. Just don't search for Kreon or you'll see a ridiculous markup. Also mine came from South Korea so it may takes up to two weeks before you get it. The Benq and Samsung drives are usually a little faster. But you must have the 0800 firmware from xbins.

Re: ABGX ERROR ON SAINTS ROW 1
still silly to get banned even if you just go on to get updates. if you get banned then you can't even do that. . .

Re: ABGX ERROR ON SAINTS ROW 1
If the backup your using was ripped and burned correctly then there's no reason to remove other than to play another game. All of my games that are live enabled have been on live originals and backups. But I rip them using either XBC or S360 and then check the iso with XBC, S360, and ABGX. I sometimes still get the Angle 359 message but haven't had any issues playing those games on live as I'm running iXtreme 1.51 on my benq drive.

Mine was from south korea aswell haha
Try TigerDirect.com I read they sell one of the drives (I think it was an IDE) for 20 bucks plus shipping... Thats a better deal than you will likely find on ebay.
"Can you be banned for a bad backup in the drive?"
- I would say yes, you can. Its kind of a grey area, but personally I would think you can.
My Reasoning:
Say you downloaded a game from the internet. If its on a public tracker, its likely M$ has made note of the game, and will flag anyone who plays the suspected game online. When you put the disk in your xbox on the my xbox channel, it says what game is in the tray, so I would assume while your xbox was reading the disk info, it read the 'game identification' number. It would only be logical for me to assume the data would be sent to M$, and they would flag you for a ban if it matched one they suspect as being pirated.
So I would think same thing would go for a bad backup.

thanx alot guys. ill master backing up before i get sloppy with live then. annoying though and sketchy to be using my Tversity now. i was trying to block my router but i cant stop this stupid xbox from automaticly logging in to live. i actually dont care if i get banned if there is another way to update. hell i already got the update i wanted. the one that plays avi's. everything is green now though. one ugly dashboard.
anyhow. thanx for the info guys.

What kind of router do you have, because I know on mine I can restrict internet access to any connected device on my network.

Re: ABGX ERROR ON SAINTS ROW 1
2wire 2701hg-b. i am supposed to be able to but when i started my account with live somehow an "XBox" ended up in my "defined applications" on my router/modem with ports 80 and 3074 attached to it. ive set my router to maximum protect the xbox but it still gets through. and i cant find an option on my router to delete anything but the "user defined apps" that ive entered. i could just wipe the router clean and delete everything. but then i gotta go back and port forward a ton of crap that i wanna keep. maybe im missing something... i never really had to block on this thing.technoe wrote:What kind of router do you have, because I know on mine I can restrict internet access to any connected device on my network.
btw, is one or any of those drives you listed better than the other. and it seems like they are an older model. just wonderin cuz i dont see a date on any of the specs i looked at for them.

Re: ABGX ERROR ON SAINTS ROW 1
The SH-D163B is the latest model. It's just like anything the only reason they come out with a new model is because it's "supposed" to be better than the last.
