Yo guys, I am using Jungle Flasher 1.51 to do my flashing and running into a problem. I can open JF, flash a drive and then close JF. If i was to re-open JF, it locks my pc up and I have to hard reboot. Is this normal? I am using a HP Pav. with an AMD 64 bit cpu with XP 32 bit. It has two on board sata ports. I do not have a problem flashing the drive, just when I close JF and try to re-open it. Thanks for all the help.

Do you have PortIO32 installed correctly? Try using Jungle Flasher 1.55b. Try disabling your on board raid drivers. (Rename them).

Opened the new JF and clicked on the new PORTIO32.exe and it said installed ok. dlb clicked JF and bam locked up. Hmm...not sure how to disable the raid on the mb.

Depending on your motherboard the file will be named accordingly. run msinfo32 from the Run command line and find the name of your on board raid controller. That will point you in the right direction for your driver file name.

Couldn't find anything information about a raid controller.

It could be under a different name like sata or ide controller/connector or connection. Remember that a sata port is classified as an IDE device. IDE covers both sata and pata style connectors. Sata as you should know is the 7-pin cable usually red by which most newer devices use. Pata is the older, wide 42 pin connector for mostly older devices now even though manufacturers still produce devices that use this connector.

I have looked and can't find anything regarding a raid/ide controller on this m/b. I dont think that it has one.

So assuming that there isnt one, what would be my next option? I did buy the Rosewill RC-212 for another pc, but I would like both to work and eventually get another CK3 w/probe.

Thanks again for all your help.

After you close JF check in your processes to see if its still running...

Sounds like a JF + your mobo error.

Just a theory (could probably be way out to lunch...) it could be something in how JF ends the session with your 'card' (I know you dont have a physical card in your computer). Then next time you open JF it tried to access your card, to read what is hooked up to it and the card reports as busy, and locks your comp.

Try using iPrep, or a different computer. I cant really say for sure if a controller card would even fix this problem. If it has something to do with the way your mobo and JF interact, it may still happen even if you use a controller card to flash.

An update: While trying to spoof the Hit. to my Benq, I restarted JF a couple of times and it did not freeze my pc up. Not sure what I did, but at least that problem is solved.
