No kidding. What's really cool about the PS3 is the ability to swap hdds at will. No special firmware, no special signatures. Mark one up for Sony.

There are people that are working on the PS3, but not like other consoles. The reason being is because Sony was semi-smart in allowing linux into the fold. You can get a linux kit and be running linux on the PS3 in hardly any time. Not having the linux hackers on the side of the people that want to play backup games hurts because being able to play backups is a side affect of gaining complete machine control in order to run linux. With Sony allowing a linux kit, the linux hackers has no interest in hacking the PS3 so that leaves playing backups to other people with the majority of them lacking the skills as the linux community as a whole.

Not to mention the blank disc cost of $9 us....all I can say is very nice coaster. . I would have to get into bluray crafting to make up for my mistakes.
