IPrep "Invalid DVD Key" on Lite-On

Post by ShuMai »

I've got a brand new Lite-on drive that I want to flash with firmware 1.51. I have the following hardware:
Via 6421 card
CK3 Lite with probe

I've used iPrep tons of times with other drives and had no issues. This is the first Lite-On I am attempting. I've watched your video tutorial but every time I try to read the key info I get the error message "DVD-Key is invalid".

The steps I am following are:
CK3 power cable connected to DVD drive and probe
Serial cable connected to COM1 (only port I have)
Molex connected to CK3
SATA cable connected to DVD drive
I power on the computer and the CK3
I eject the tray on the drive using the CK3
Power off the CK3
Close the tray half-way
Power back on the CK3
Type `dLit`command and hit enter
Press any key at next prompt
Put probe on R707 hole and get the green light
Type y at the next prompt
Then I get the error message and get kicked back to a C: prompt

Any suggestions for trying something different, or is there something I`m doing wrong in there. I`ve tried this probably 10 tens and still no luck

That did the trick!! Thank you so much for your lightning fast response. I feel like a bit of a fool for not realizing what I was doing wrong, but I really appreciate you helping out. :D

This is one problem area that I feel will be addressed in RHPG's iPrep v010
