LiteOn STUCK in status 0x80 (FF80)

Well after a bad flash, my drive is seriously stuck in 0x80 status. I have tried to do the dos l-o-eras method, but no matter how long i do it for, it still says the same thing.

I have also tried with jungleflasher, but that can't seem to get it out of 80 either.

Any help would be much appreciated!

When using the l-o-eras 16 bit version?

If so, that dosen't do anything?

is your lite-on drive locked up or does the flashing process get stuck at that status. because those are two different things.

Nono, I TRIED to flash it, and the firmware wouldn't upload, so I have like a half erased drive and I cant get it to fully erase.

can you physically open the drive? if so you didn't need to do the l-o-eras method.

i didn't see that you were using jungleflasher, also with that it doesn't show that it found a cd-rom drive.

what's ya setup? do you have a connectivity kit of some sort? are you using you're on board sata port or a via card?

Right, I tried to erase and flash with jungleflasher, and it went wrong. So I figured I would try and reflash it with jungleflasher, evidentally it didn't work, so I then tried with dosflash32, that didn't work either because there is no drive recognised under windows.

I then resorted to the DOS method (l-o-erase). I have flashed like 50 drives before using my onboard SATA controllers, so it is nothing to do with hardware compatibility.

I have the CK3 PRO with probe. And no, i can't open the drive with the computer, but i can open it manually.

yea, the drive opens so you shouldn't of did the l-o-erase. you started with jungleflasher you should of stuck with it. boucning around from programs may mess you up.

viewtopic.php?f=195&t=3357

i say start over, you're main thing is that you want to see jungleflasher read the drive, it should show a number next to cd/dvd roms found. once you see that then you should be good to go.

But, there is NO firmware on teh drive, so windows won't recognise it...

i don't know about all that windows not recognizing it stuff. . . meaning i doubt that's a valid claim. but i use iPrep. is this a fresh drive that you're flashing? or an update?

if you're having a hard time with jungleflasher then i would say try iPrep.

Windows doesn't have to recognize the drive, just Jungle Flasher. I'd say your best bet as this point is to build the cfw with jungle flasher and do your flashing with iPrep. To do this check out this tutorial..

if you hit the eject on the ck3 will it eject (no the pc,or by hand)
if it will not then you will have to do the recover
that is the only way

if you cant get it to work right
before you totally brick you may want to drop sadalius a pm.

Out of the 50 flashes you've done with your onboard sata, how many lite on's have you done??

IMHO this seems to be something to do with sata... One good thing about these drives (providing you have a good key in your dummy.bin) is that they are designed to be flashed without any firmware on the drive, but you do need it to report 72 before you can flash...

I presume you're running L-O-E from an iprep flash? Try turning the drive on and off in between attempts, this has helped me in the past. Just out of interest, what chipset is your onboard running? One thing that's important is to ensure your sata is running in Legacy (IDE) mode, which is a setting in your BIOS... If you can't get it with that, it may be worth trying it with a VIA card like the one in my sig... You may have to do this to get it working correctly with Jungle Flasher...

Hope you get it going
