ARRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

I was putting the finishing touches on my projector, and noticed there was a bunch of dirt and smudges on the underside of the LCD. I had all 4 edges of the LCD taped down with electric tape, so I pulled it off, so I could lift the monitor up and clean it. Well near the bottom is where the LCD connects to the board. Me being tired and lazy pulled the tape, and ripped the connection off...

So now I have no projector anymore, and that monitor I had hooked up was perfect! Great res, no blur's, all kinds of inputs and outputs perfect size, but now its completely F*'ed

I tried for a solid 20 mins to realign the tiny connectors, it seemed many times to be in the perfect position but the LCD would not display anything, so now im pretty pissed... (The LCD will never work again, seeing as I smashed the dvd player base against the wall)

I will now need to go out and buy either a small monitor, or a large portable dvd player with loads of inputs. I had an amazing setup, and played Half life 2, it looked amazing!! Also had my digital cable hooked up to the LCD...

Dude I'm so sorry I wasn't there. I spent many moons replacing BIOS IC's for ASUS and I know how hard it can be to resolder those connections.

it always the little stuff that get you
just pulling off a piece of tape
or just not lokking and putting a drive power plug in upside down.
it happens to all of us at one time or another.

I just looked at it, and the board is still intact, I just smashed the dvd player itself (which I never used)

The connects like this:

That brown tape thing is what I ripped off (mine was much smaller) It was just like glued on there.

Now the next step is finding the absolute perfect screen for my projector, so I don't get pissed off every time I use it remembering that the screen I used before was better.

Do you guys know if there is any way to find the LCD's actual size from a tv's size. IE: A 18" Tv is "x inches by x inches" any idea if you can figure that out without finding a page with specific details on the monitor/tv in question?

And the worst part is the night before I had moved EVERYTHING in my basement so all my couches and recliners would face the wall I had my projector pointing at.

I even moved my Cathode Ray Tube TV (The old 'bubble' style tv) upstairs. That thing is heavy as hell! So the all time worst part is I cant play xbox or watch TV or anything down there until I fix this...

This was the DVD player I used:

Time to find something better.
