Hello all,
I just have a quick question about a drive swap. Is there anywhere on the internet I can find all the stock firmware for all the drives? I ask this because I have a customer and he needs a drive replacement but he doesnt want to get it modded. He has a MS28 and I ordered him a BenQ. So can I take the original firmware, inject his old key in it, spoof it to a MS28 and I should be good to go right?

Unfortunately all of the OFW from M$ is copyrighted so it can't be openly distributed. But if you do happen to have a spare benq around you could dump the firmware from it. And flash it into his new drive with the Sammy Key and you'll be good to go.

my experience is to tell the client....just do it. why all the fuss...if he doesn't want to play backed'up games then he don't have too. He might have the ability but does not need to exercise it.

Save all your future ofw for this issue, when it comes up...sporadic are it may be.

I actually do have all the OFW from all the clients ive served. I know ive done all types of drives so I know for sure I have an OFW from a Benq. But if I inject the key, and try to spoof it with JF, it will spoof ok? I ask this because ive only spoofed ixtreme FW not the OFW. And then chuck it on the new BenQ and I should be ok?

And I did tell the client to just go for it but he says he cant pay for it at the moment. I told him I can wait

I find it odd that a person is paying more for a cfw flash than a ofw flash.
but that is just me.

Im with shootsteel on this one.
just flash in the cfw and be done with it.
it has the same chance of getting banned as a cfw.

Well he just wanted a drive replacement since his drive went bad. I suggested he get it modded as well. A well, we will see what he decides.

If I were you, I would offer to flash it free of charge. You already have to flash it, so why not just flash a different FW.

When the time comes that he wants to update, he will more than likely want you to flash it since you are such a good guy
