My fallout 3 keeps freezing near/around the same spot

I checked the disk no scratches and re-verified it and it still keeps happening. I think this may be a sign of well knock on wood rrod. I have a lite-on w/ 1.51. I think i may have a falcon or jasper HDMI board.

if its hanging up in the same spot of the game (imo) it has to be a game disc problem
clean it real good or make a new backup
