Gut swap
I don't come out of the shadows often.
To perform a "GutSwap"
You go to your local store that has a great return policy.
Pay cash for a new console.
Once back in the shadows of your sanctuary.
You would every so carefully remover the warranty label.
Take the Heart(I mean guts) out of the new 360.
Now
We go to the dead 360 that has left you or someone you care about in a uncontrolled fit of depression
Remove the dead guts from that console.
Now
Take the dead Guts and put them in the new case (see where i'm going with this)
Remember to take the small label under the flap for the wired controllers off.
Also keep in mind that if you are doing this "GutSwap" on a console that has a HDMI and your original console don't
you will have to use the bottom of your original case
That way every thing will line up.
Then you return the console that has now been "Gut Swapped"
I have done this very thing sitting in the parking lot of the store.
I also take great pleasure
When I tell the return person that my damn wife would not let me keep it.
I tell them the wife says "it will have a bad influence on the child".
Oh the joy they get from that. They just laugh and laugh
as they hand me the money.
I walk out with a low little grin.
Of course throw the new guts in the old case.
But
Keep in mind there is a good chance it will RROD in a year or so.
As long as
"The Mighty" Sadalius
and
"The Fire in the Eyes of the wind" CoFree
Turn a deaf ear on this post who knows it may help someone with limited or no funds to replace
the Hunk of console crap that M$ made.
If not for the great games these days the xbox 360 would be out of business .
I now return to the shadows from whence I came.

Re: Gut swap
Darkside, you are too much my friend. I was wondering how long it would take you to join in making tutorials on here. Although true to your name, this is pretty dark, it has it's uses.

To all reading this guide.
There will be very little talk of this on the board
This guide should get a "X" rating
As in not for the Kids

Re: Gut swap
Quite possibly the best line in any thread EVER!!! Right guys we need to form some sort of RHPG love squad to hunt him down and group hug him until he comes back to society a reformed and happy go lucky character who skips and gives out daisy chains..Who's with me???DarkSide wrote: I now return to the shadows from whence I came.

ill try this 1 day lol.
Re: Gut swap
As a recommendation for this guide, I strongly suggest recording the serial number and putting a label on the unit so you can access it easilly - you cannot reformat a HD (least I couldn't) without it. I forgot to swap the serial number stickers under the faceplate, thank god or my old 20GB HD wouldn't have worked.. I did the return process as "unopened", used plastic gloves to not leave fingerprints and everything looked immaculate so they didn't look real deep, hell they didn't even open the box - also did it within 30 mins of purchase and said that my wife had gotten really angry and I had to return it..
Added - Oh yeah, I swapped the power brick out too... Good idea to do so.
