Dying Drive

Ok my 360’s dvd drive is dying on me, it’s a lite-on and was dodgy when I got it, and its at the point where it barely plays games
Am planning on either replacing the laser if possible and cost effective or the drive completely for the better performance and hopefully less grinding noise I just have a few questions....
1: What’s the correct part I need for the lite-on
2: What’s the best replacement dvd drive for the 360 sammy/benq/hit + number 0.o best life span and not fussy about media
3: When installing a different dvd drive am guessing you just flash it with the previous dvd drive firmware e.g. sammy with lite-on fw? I haven’t had time to look it up
Atm am leaning towards a benq a friend I know has had one for over 3 years with no problems with poor media
Am abit worried though iv been having other problems with games freezing and pink squares (a big no no) all with a few months old 360, man am starting to wish i got a PS3
