Stuck with FF80 (Lite-On)

I tried upgrading from iXtreme 1.51 to 1.6 and it froze during bank 3 in JungleFlasher 1.6. I think I have it erased since it won't eject, but now I can't get it into FF72 for Dosflash.
I read around and tried using iPrep v008.8 and L-O-Eras.exe. I only have the Lite-On hooked up, and I'm doing L-O-Eras.exe DF00 (the same address JungleFlasher used) and it only returns "status FF80". I've tried power-cycling it every few attempts to no avail.
Dosflash gives "No ATAPI devices present" and the Lite-On isn't visible in the BIOS or Windows. Any advice? I've only read to keep power-cycling the drive and using L-O-Eras.exe, but it doesn't seem to be working after dozens of tries...
I have the original key/identify/inquiry/dummy.bin. Is it normal that JungleFlasher doesn't use all of them to manually spoof 1.6?

Had a similar problem the other day but with a benq drive. Turned out i had a faulty on/off switch on my CK3 and solved the problem by taking the molex connector out then reinserting it. Might be worth a shot.

Oh, I guess I forgot to mention I'm using DIYGadget's kit. It doesn't have a power button, so I've been using the molex connector as well.
Also, to test that my hardware works with iPrep, I just plugged in a Hitachi drive using the same port and DIYGadget connector and it shows up in dosflash.

Hmm... I tried it on another computer and it still gives FF80, and I've tried JungleFlasher and L-O-Eras.exe on both PCs. I ended up ordering a new DG-16D2S for $30, but it still bothers me when everyone says how easy it is to unbrick a Lite-On.
I made sure the SATA address is correct, AHCI is turned off, compatibility/native mode is turned on, not using RAID or anything...
Also, I figured out that you can drag and drop dummy.bin to the source firmware text field in JungleFlasher (instead of doing manually spoofing). I guess that's better than using key/inquiry to generate dummy, but it wasn't at all obvious.

Yeah they can be a bit trying at times. With it partially erased it won't show up in jungle but i'd keep persevering with it attached to the primary sata port mate. Never used that connectivity kit you have so i couldn't comment on it.

FierceDeityLink1,
Did you check out this:

It worked for me when I bricked a lite-on, but I also had some help from Shootsteel.

Yep, that was pretty much the guide I've been using and it follows what everyone else suggests. However, for them, the drive always seems to return FF72 on the second try (or after a power-cycle). Also, it hung up on writing bank 3, not the initial vendor intro like the video, so I think I'm left with a partially flashed Lite-On that doesn't want to be erased.

You do know you have to do the l-o-eras.exe twice right?...Or you could try skipping that altogether and use JF to build your CFW then throw that into the iPrep program. But to do that you'll have to rename the lite-on cfw made by jungle flasher to litcfw.bin.

Yes, I've been doing it twice (more than twice usually to a point where if it were actually doing something, it may be wearing out the flash memory). I've got the CFW built, just no way to flash it since it doesn't show up in BIOS/Windows/Dosflash and only returns FF80.

after you try the loerase the 2nd time
if it dont give a 72
then power off the dvd drive and back on
then go right to the loeras again
see if that helps.

Yeah, I've been doing that and the only thing it returns is FF80.

all i can see is its not seeing your drive
try a different sata port
just try different stuff and get the pc to see the drive

Ok i had this prob. chances are its the molex connector is powering the drive not equaly try unplugging it then plug it in firmly equaly to both sides then give it a try if all else fails buy a CK3

Sounds probable, but I've been removing/inserting the molex connector so many times to power-cycle it you'd think I would have gotten lucky by now. I used the DIY kit to originally flash the drive to 1.51 (and the same computer). Also, it works fine with a Hitachi 78 I have laying around. I guess I'm just waiting for the new Lite-On to arrive.

I got my new one in today and flashed it with 1.6. Everything went smoothly which suggests the first drive is really bricked. Thanks for all of the help.
