Trouble with a MS25

Well first of all Happy New Year Everyone. I was flashing my friends 360 which has a samsung ms25. All the modded firmware are ms28 and ok that is no problem I was able to flash it and the key and it was spoofed, but sometimes the games are not read, and the irony is that the games that this samsung doesnt read, are read by my ben q, so the problem is not the backups i think that problem relies in the ms28 modded firmware that has to spoof the drive. The original are read normally but the backups sometimes give trouble and the one that I havent been able to read is your favorite game Call of Duty 4 that we can play it on my Ben Q but on her samsung 360 we cant. Does anyone know anything about this?

if his drive will read some backups then its not the firmware.
the v25 was one of the first 360 to come out
i hate to say it but it could be the laser has got a little weak and is not picking up the backup like it should

Ok I've been browsing ebay to buy the laser lens and there appears to be 2 types, which I would like the differece between the laser lens replacement HD63 and HD67, which one would apply to the toshiba/samsung ms25 drive?

Man, I would try some different media before I went to all that trouble. Make sure you are using a good quality media with a good quality burner.

The thing is that the backups are not the cause of the problem because the backups work beautifully in my 360 but on her's doesnt work as well, sometimes it read them, sometimes it doesnt, and on mine they are read evertime with no problem, so when u guys tell me that it could be the laser it made perfect sense

your right i had forgot that part.
i would mess with the laser first.

as long as you are using good disc verbatim and burning slow
some 360 are pickier than others

the backups can still be the source of the problem. We all know that no two dvd reader lasers are made the same. This particular one could have been in the tuning phase at beer:30 on a Friday and the tech could have cared less about getting it properly tuned and it just hit marginally acceptable and left it at that. But still when it comes to reading problems, I would try different media first, and then (yes I know it costs more money, but saves the trouble) buy a replacement drive. Thats just me though.

what ever you do
make sure you have a good dump of your firmware before you mess with it.

I do have a good dump of the firmware with the key, also have the proper tools and skills to fix that kind of stuff, all I want to know is the difference betweem HD63 and HD67 laser lens so that I buy the correct one to fix my friends Toshiba/Samsung drive. Also a note worth mentioning, the backups worked on yet another 360, not only my own but another friends 360 so 2/3 i think maybe could be the laser lens
