So I am about to flash a stock ms28 samsung drive for first time.
1) Do I need to unlock it first using jungle flasher or can I just go on ahead and use iprep???
2) (Hypothetical question) And now lets says that a new update comes for the xtreme firmware.....do I need to downgrade back to stock firmware before updating to a newer one??? Or can I just update without doing that???
Thanks for the help.

1: You can use iprep straight away, down to personal preference on which program you prefer
2: No need to return it back to stock for updates (only Hitachi's require this).
Happy flashing.

I would flash with iprep(for sure if you have a via chipset )
here is a good vodeo guide to look over
http://www.robinhoodsplayground.com/for ... 195&t=5128" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
also textbook would be a good read
of course you only need to read the parts on the samsung drive

1) When using iprep is the back up created by itself??
2) What file is the back up located in??
3) In what situation would I need to use the back up???
4) How would I go on about using the back up???
Thanks for info.

Yes iPrep will automatically create the backup, but it's wise to boot into Windows and check the key before you go to flashing the drive.

All of the files are in the backup folder.
x88x wrote:3) In what situation would I need to use the back up???
In case you want to send your box back to M$.

Just rename it to samCFW.bin and load it into iPrep like you would any firmware.
