What am I doing wrong?

Okay I have a hitachi 79 drive that has a blaster NE. I haven't opened the 360 want to use the blaster. Now I connect my via sata card with the cable to the blaster NE mind you the drive is still in the case. Okay I try using jungle flasher got the blaster switch setting right?(mode on) and what I'm getting is no drive detected. I've got my dvdkey32 setting for VIA port only and the hitachi just isn't showing. So I decided to switch blaster to Xbox and open the tray and unplug from wall then turn on blaster and the tray closes and still no drive detected. I don't mind opening the case but can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? oh I also tried slax cd to see if it would go into mode b and rebooted the pc left xbox on and still no drive detected.

Got it-The switch from Xbox to pc wasn't making contact pressed down and slid the switch over and drive is now flashed!!
