Hi
I have previosly flashed my drive with ixtreme 1.4 a while back using iprep and a via chipset. But now since ixtreme 1.6 is out i thought it will update it.
I was wondering using jungleflasher do you still need the via chipset or can i just use my normal sata connectors present on my computer. However i do hava a dvd-rw and hard drive connected by sata also.
thanks

Sometimes it's better to use your onboard sata's with jungle as it bypasses the need to rename/remove the viamraid.sys file associated with the via chipset.

but it all depends on whether you have compatible intel or nvidia chipset, most use the via card..but its worth a try

Also you do NOT need to disable the VIA drivers while flashing anything other than the Lite-ons. And I almost always use iPrep on my lite-ons so I never need worry about the drivers.

I do. If i don't disable them with jungle i have a few problems now and again with other brands and not just with the liteon drives. Strange i know as its just the liteons which supposedly have the problem with it polling the drive but it may be down to my system. One of the mods on another site has the same problem so i tend to err on the side of caution.
