I just finished watching your video on how to flash the Hitachi dvd drive (Great) and i have a question. I had someone flash my drive so I dont have the software the driver had. Do i need that to update to the new firmware??

No, you don't need it, BUT YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU EXTRACT THE KEY! Then restore the drive to stock and make sure you keep that key in several places.

Not sure what you mean there. You can get the CK3 Pro from a number of places. CoFree and the guys put together a list of websites that they have bought from and that are good. Check it out here:

JF will give you your key if you follow the correct steps when restoring your drive. It is imperative that you restore your hitachi before trying to flash it with anything but JF. JF has safeguards to help keep you from flashing over your existing firmware.
