Activision CEO Bobby Kotick has warned that the publisher “might have to stop supporting Sony” platforms.

“I'm getting concerned about Sony; the PlayStation 3 is losing a bit of momentum and they don't make it easy for me to support the platform. It's expensive to develop for the console, and the Wii and the Xbox are just selling better. Games generate a better return on invested capital on the Xbox than on the PlayStation,” he told The Times.

“They have to cut the price, because if they don't, the attach rates are likely to slow,” he added. “If we are being realistic, we might have to stop supporting Sony. When we look at 2010 and 2011, we might want to consider if we support the console — and the PSP too.”

Kotick, who said recently that he was disappointed the platform holders opted not to announce console price cuts at E3, also noted that Activision had paid Sony $500 million in royalties and other goods last year, which “probably still worked out at 400 percent of the profit they made.”

This is nothing new, we've talked about stuff like this for a while now and we figured it would come down to this. Activision is just the first in a long line of companies.

They should stop supporting Sony, because sony is in a ''Dream Land''

Sony thinks everything is great and their console is better than any other.

What they forgot is that the price counts too.

Wake Up sony.

Yea! Go xbox 360 fanboys! Bash the better console and say it costs too much for your broke asses... Give it a rest.
When wil people realize the the ps3 is so much more than just a video game console? Wifi enabled blu-ray media player.
Sony is on the cutting edge of tech, and always had been. They don't pretend to be catering to your average gamer.
Need I mention the xbox arcade, which was released solely as a "replacement" console for those 360 owners whos consoles died from the various hardware failures. You can't even update the arcade console with the new XBM software without a harddrive, which makes playing some of the new games imposible without buying a memory upgrade. lmao.
Want wireless gaming? better buy our nifty wireless adapter and oh want to watch some HD content, let's just go and purchace an HD drive. woops we got the drive now they stopped producing this format of media and we're screwed, but my arcade only cost me $199, lol.

xbox 360 are fun, but they don't compare to the ps3 as a whole. gaming on either system is the same. the one thing I'll give the xbox 360 is the controller, it's nicer to jam out on the 360 pad for long periods of time,

Thanks robbinhoods playground, love the site and thanks to all the ops and members.

Arguing over video games makes me laugh.

sony has been able to lower the price of there console
and have not

and
as far as the game makers are concerned,i would bet the farm sony has not told them that they are not

It does show how bad it is though
if there are going to pull back from producing games for the ps3
sony had better come up with something people will use the console for.
with stand alone blu-ray player under $200 now.

Personally I have a pretty fast desktop computer that is a multimedia machine, not only can I play games I can encode movies into 1080p or back down to dvd, I can surf the internet well pretty much anything that anyone does with a computer, and I plug it into my flat screen tv and watch it in my living room. I would like sony to explain to me why I should but an overpriced blu ray player.
