Windows 7 prices released

Post by commando_lee »

Thanks to the EU there will no upgrades for UK customers because of the ruling that Microsoft can’t include Internet Explorer, so all customers will have to buy the full version.

Windows 7 will be available in Home Premium, Professional and Ultimate.

There is also a starter edition that is for the netbook market and will not be available to the public.

The recommended prices will be £169.99 for Home Premium, £219.99 for Professional and £229.99 for Ultimate.

These prices are on the high side and of course there are ways of getting around paying the full price.

There is a pre-order scheme due to run between the 15th July and 14th August, which will allow customers to get their hands on a copy of Windows 7 Home Premium for £49.99 and Premium for £99.99.

There is still the browser issue as the operating system will not have IE.

Customers who may think that they can simply download Chrome or Firefox will face a problem when there is no browser to start with, and this is an issue that Microsoft says it is planning to address.
