Shalom Ya'll!

This should be a simple question for you all. I have only modded 3 systems with a Softmod, the rest where NME-360 Chip and had no need of the VIA 6421 PCI SATA card.

CoFree states in one of his tutorials:
"If using a VIA 6421x PCI Sata card, it is advisable to remove the drivers from the
\Windows\System 32\Drivers\ directory as they do not handle erased LiteOns very well
at all, causing the infamous ‘LiteOn + VIA Freeze"

What drivers are those exactly? I need a name before I install this card. and install PortIO32.
I have LastXP v22 installed on my PC and I don't see any reference 'VIA' drivers in the '\Windows\System 32\Drivers\ ' or is it named somthing else?

Thank you for your help.

Viaraid?
It looks like LastXP v22 has no such creature in the target directory.
If that's all I was looking for than I'll install the VIA.
Than slot

viamraid this would be your driver for the sata card you installed....you can just disable it, as this technique works for some people.

C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\viamraid.sys is the full address of the file you are looking for. Here's some step by step for you.

1. Open Device Manager, find the Storage title, right click on the VIA Raid device and click disable, Leave device manager open.
2. Open the directory above, rename file to viamraid.bak
3. In device manager re-enable the card. You should now have a little yellow ! next to it.
4. If 3 is not true restart your pc. And check device manager again.
5. Enjoy your modded 360!!

Awesome, you guys are! (<-Notice thats proper English Translated hebrew grammer structure. Just like Yoda, LOL!)

Thank you for such fast help. It seems that LastXP v22 does not have the driver in its directories, so I can just continue on :)
The details on the location and disabling will be noted for future reference though.
