How is the box modded? Softmod or chip? If my memory serves me correct, if the original hdd is locked, it shouldn't matter because in it's original state, it should be locked anyway. But at any rate, run the Evox dash board with the hdd that works installed and do an eeprom backup. One of the things you should get out of this backup is the hdd key. That should get you to where you can unlock it.

The original drive may have went dead from not being used or something. Thing is, even though the drive was locked, the xbox should have been able to unlock it if it was the same xbox that the drive came out of. Which is why I think something may have happened to the drive.
