i was wondering if anyone knows of a good program that i can get for a vista machine to block certain websites like facebook and garbage like that from my kids

There are some programs that you can get like Net Nanny. If you have a router you may be able to log into it and set a filter there. The setup is different for each router so you will need to go to their website or check your manual.

If you have access to their computer you can simply just block any website by going into Tools > Internet Options > Content.

Also if they are smart they could just Proxy through
