1.4 to 1.6

i got a samsung drive and a benq with a with 1.4 firmware is it safe to just flash it to 1.6 firmware .... without the original firmware.....

you need to make sure you have a backup of the ofw and/or key from thises dvd drives but yes you can just flash
like the drive has never been flash before.

When you flash, as cofree said make sure you have your key. You should dump your drive first, and take that key, and spoof it into the new fw.
