Help needed with BenQ.

Post by saladbar »

OK.....I am just about to loose it, this is driving me crasy......I hope you guys can give me a hand.
When I try to follow the tutorial right after I get to the C:\> and I type dosflash all I get is:
DOSFLASh by Kai Schtrom. 19.10.2007 (ver 1.3 beta) and it just hangs there for ever and nothing else!

So I tried doing it the other way also...by putting the whole thing in....i.e
C:\>Dosflash r A000 1 a0 1 4 C:\orig.bin 0

but after I hit (Y) yes and turn on the Xbox and then off and then on again, I get nothing.....it hangs up again.

What am I doing wrong here?
Thanks for any help you guys can give me....

OK,

I have officially done it all...
I re down loaded all the soft ware and Fw and nothing still.
I have used another USB thumb drive also and nothing.
I have used 2 different computers (1 Nf4 and the other is a NF2 chipset) nothing still.
I have reinstalled SATA chip set drivers, I have changed it from SATA 1 to 2, 3 and 4 in the mother beard.
I have disconnected everything in the motherboard except the Xbox and still..........
So what could it be?

in the command line "C:\>Dosflash r A000 1 a0 1 4 C:\orig.bin 0" if i put a "0 or 1" it would not work for me.im using a via chipset pci card.there are some that have to use a 1 not a 0.you may wont to try that.first i would try just like in this guide.
http://www.robinhoodsplayground.com/for ... ?f=63&t=17

try it with out any extra code meaning "0 or 1" and see what happens worked for me.

just stay cool, dont rush this, well help you get it going. :D
let us know how it goes

the best thing ive done is get a via pci sata card.it works with just about everything.you may wont to look into

Thanks man...
I do know I tried putting the 1 instead of the 0 last night and that didn't do any better, but I will try it with out them and see it that does the trick.
Actually one of the reasons I am pissed is that last night after I had mess with this for soooo long, I made a mistake and formatted my external HD (500 Gb) with all my musik, Anime, TV shows......... Arghhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Doh!
Now I need to try and see if I can recover some of it...........
Any way, I will try this out in my lunch break and will post back.
Thanks a ton for the fast reply man.

make sure when you are flashing to undue the other drives.if your computer has a sata dvd drive or a sata hard drive samtool wont run if they are not unplugged.thats for the sam drive anyway.

No luck man......I just tried it again and I made sure to unplug everything (SATA and IDE) and still nada!
When I do it manually, after I hit (Y)es and I turn on and off and on again it just hangs on:
STATUS: 0x01

And when I do it just by typing (dosflash) it hangs on:
DOSFLASh by Kai Schtrom. 19.10.2007 (ver 1.3 beta)

And stays there.

I have read posts from other people with this same issue. What sata chipset are you using and is that the same sata controller thats in the other computer that you tried?

So, guess what!
I managed to flash my benQ, Cofree was right about the Via chipsets. As soon as I used a friend of mines computer with a via chipset on the motherboard to flash the benQ it worked with out a hitch.
I guess not all Nforce 2,3,and 4 motherboards are good to flash the BenQ's.
Thanks for the help guys

Hey, sorry... thanks for the fast reply. First I guess im just trying to read the original bin.
I get the dosflash 16 to load using an usb drive. and type in" dosflash r E000 1 a0 1 4 c:\orig.bin 0"
and then i answer y... next i follow the on / off sequence. sometimes it says reading bank 0 and hangs there.
any ideas of what it is?
