Sharing Internet between comp an 360

Im networking illiterate so bear with me!My question is how to hookup a comp and 360 off of one lan line.Idont like wireless because of lagg.Im already running off a router downstairs and ran one line upstairs to my room.Just wondering if there might be a splitter or something like for lan?

It would work, but I don't think it is the best option. 'Cause u would spend money on a router, but u only need a splitter.

Unless u want to use wireless connection.

I'd just buy a hub or get a cheap belkin router and turn off DHCP. I use a belkin router my internet company gives out and just turned off DHCP and use one ethernet cable from my main router, and then plug in my 360 and desktop into it. Keeps everything on the same network so I can share out my movies and music. The problem I see with a splitter is having IP conflicts.Two computers on one cable is most likely going to cause problems.

Not to mention the lagg you might expect if they both are transferring data. You can get a switch to do the same thing as sccrbrandon4788 was saying without having to reprogram it.
