Really Need Help, Successful Flash, Burning Smell

Hey guys, so I bought a second drive and after going through tons of stress and finally flashing it, success.

It worked with a regular 360 game. Next tried my newly burnt copy of Prototype. Works. I was so happy.

But now, just a couple minutes after reconstructing the 360 to the insides of its box, I smell burning, coming from the 360 itself.

Any help at all!? I turned it off to prevent any fatal damage but I'm worried. Or am I just imaging things. I'm going to open it up and check it out.

i cant see flashing the drive will burn anything out, but have a look and see if there is anythin obvious. Could just be you may have touched the board with damp hands and water transffered. Turn it on while the case is off and if it smells again you should be able to tell where its comin from

I would also make sure you didnt put the power cable back into the drive upside down. If so you could have created that burn smell and possibly fried your drive.

Not necessarily, I believe the older systems would still boot up.

They will boot up, and they will fry the drive. New systems will give you a red light on the power brick.

I had the drive cable a little bit out on a box I flashed, and it made all my power bricks go red, I didnt know wth has going on, so I looked closely and saw the drive cable was not all the way in. Good thing it was a newer console, I fried my MS25 same way...
